What was the WSGA?
The Wyoming Stock Growers' Association (WSGA) was a group of ranchers who worked to eliminate cattle rustling during the annual cattle round-up. Many of the 'alleged' rustlers were smaller ranch owners who were competing with the big ranchers for land, water, and livestock. The WSGA planned and started the Johnson County War.
