Who was Wild Bill Hickok?
Wild Bill Hickok was appointed as Abilene's town marshall in 1871 and sacked within a year for a number of misdeeds. As well as being involved in a number of suspicious shootings, he was accused of spending his time gambling, rather than enforcing the law.
