What was the SS Exodus?
The SS Exodus was an old American passenger ship bought by the Haganah to support Jewish immigration to Palestine and Zionist cause. It was stopped by the British Navy and transported back to France. The passengers refused to disembark and many joined a hunger strike. They were forcibly taken back to refugee camps in Germany.
