What was the Medicine Lodge Treaty?
The Medicine Lodge Treaty ended the large reservation system, and moved the Native Americans of the Southern Plains onto smaller reservations in Oklahoma. It ensured that the Native Americans stayed on the reservations and adapted their way of life to that of white Americans.
