When Germany was unable to make its reparation payments in 1922, French and Belgian soldiers invaded the industrial Ruhr region in January 1923, and began to send goods to France as payment.
How did the League react to the Ruhr dispute?
Although this was an act of aggression by a stronger country against a weaker one, the League did nothing.
What was the result of the Ruhr dispute?
French troops did not leave the Ruhr until 1925. In the meantime, there was violence between them and German workers. The League of Nations appeared to only be interested in protecting the victors of the First World War.
