What is anti-semitism?
Anti-Semitism is the prejudice against Jews. This can include separate laws, extra taxes, separate living areas (ghettos) and being made to wear different clothes.
Why are some people anti-Semitic?
Jews have been blamed for many things including the crucifiction of Jesus.
When have people been anti-Semitic in the past?
Throughout history the Jews have been treated badly, these include.
  • The Holocaust - Nazi anti-semitism during the Second World War.
  • 1290 all Jews were expelled from England by the King.
  • 1492 all Jews were expelled from Spain.
What did anti-semitism lead to in the 19th Century?
In the 19th Century anti-semitism led to a rise of Zionism, a belief in the re-establishment of a Jewish Homeland in Palestine.
